Who is my neighbour?

The Greatest love of all

For GOD so loved the world that HE gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (King James Version)

Shine as lights

"You are GOD's children whom HE loves, so try to be like HIM. Live a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to GOD. But there must be no sexual sin among you, or any kind of evil or greed. Those things are not right for GOD's holy people." - EPHESIANS 5:3

Carelessness Causes Fire

Recently I saw a label from a pillow. What stood out to me was the words 'CARELESSNESS CAUSES FIRE'. It made me think about what this sentence could mean when applied to the Christian walk of faith. What things are detrimental to our spiritual health? When we are careless we can often forget how easily we can fall.

King James Bible
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12)

When we sin we forget GOD
"At the time of sin, we forget GOD

Like looking in the mirror

1 Corinthians 13:12- Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
(James 1:22)
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. James 1:22-25.

Our lives should reflect the glory of the living GOD.  We should reflect Christ. We should look like GOD, just as children look like their parents and even more so as they grow older. So it is that we should be like Christ. Live like HIM, love like HIM, walk like HIM, talk like HIM, think like HIM. As we mature in our faith we should all the more look like HIM.

People who have truly given their life to Christ cannot help but strive to be like HIM. HE is so perfect and beautiful and holy that all of creation must look to HIM. For is is written, every good and perfect gift comes from HIM. A soul that has been awakened to their sin cannot continue in it. Since we are 'Christians' (followers of Christ) are lives should reflect HIS life. We are to have the 'mind of Christ' and to hold the thoughts, purposes and desires of HIS divine heart. We are to lead every thought away captive in obedience to Christ. Our hearts should be one with the Saviour, our minds should hold HIS glorious and holy thoughts and our will should be conformed to HIS good and perfect will. As a well-known song goes: -
Take my heart and reform it,
Take my mind and transform it,
Take my will and conform it
To Yours, to Yours, O LORD.

To be a Christian means to give your life completely to Christ. It is to say to GOD/Jesus, LORD, I give my life to You, please take control over it. You must submit yourself completely to Christ and let HIM enter (be intimately involved in) every area of your life. Who better to commit your life to than the One Who is ultimately in control.

Read Ephesians 5: 1-20.

What do you look like?

THE WORD OF GOD

THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND POWERFUL. IT IS SHARPER THAN THE SHARPEST TWO-EDGED SWORD, CUTTING BETWEEN SOUL AND SPIRIT, BETWEEN JOINT AND MARROW. IT EXPOSES OUR INNERMOST THOUGHTS AND DESIRES.
HEBREWS 4: 1-13

The Deity of Jesus Christ
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Read John 1: 1-16

The Bible says that Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it to make it belong to GOD. (Ephesians 5: 25-27) The Word says that Christ used the Word to make the church clean by washing it with water.(vs 26) HE died so that HE could give the church to Himself like a bride in all her beauty.(vs 27)

Who is GOD?

The true GOD is the Creator of all things. The Bible calls Him the "King of eternity," meaning that He had no beginning and will never have an end. (Revelation 15:3) Since GOD is the Source of life, we should worship only Him.- Read Revelation 4:11.

No one has ever seen GOD because He is a Spirit, which means that He is a higher form of life than the physical creatures who live on earth. (John 1:18; 4:24) GOD's personality is revealed in the things He has made. For example, when we contemplate the design and variety of fruits and flowers, we discern GOD's love and wisdom. The vastness of the universe tells us of GOD's power.- Read Romans 1:20. We can learn even more about GOD's personality from the Bible. For example, it tells us what GOD likes and what He does not like, how He treats people, and how He reacts in different situations.- Read Psalm 103:7-10.

The personality of GOD can also be known through His Son JESUS CHRIST; by Whom we are all saved. 'For GOD so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life'. (John 3:16) GOD is love.
