Like looking in the mirror

1 Corinthians 13:12- Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
(James 1:22)
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. James 1:22-25.

Our lives should reflect the glory of the living GOD.  We should reflect Christ. We should look like GOD, just as children look like their parents and even more so as they grow older. So it is that we should be like Christ. Live like HIM, love like HIM, walk like HIM, talk like HIM, think like HIM. As we mature in our faith we should all the more look like HIM.

People who have truly given their life to Christ cannot help but strive to be like HIM. HE is so perfect and beautiful and holy that all of creation must look to HIM. For is is written, every good and perfect gift comes from HIM. A soul that has been awakened to their sin cannot continue in it. Since we are 'Christians' (followers of Christ) are lives should reflect HIS life. We are to have the 'mind of Christ' and to hold the thoughts, purposes and desires of HIS divine heart. We are to lead every thought away captive in obedience to Christ. Our hearts should be one with the Saviour, our minds should hold HIS glorious and holy thoughts and our will should be conformed to HIS good and perfect will. As a well-known song goes: -
Take my heart and reform it,
Take my mind and transform it,
Take my will and conform it
To Yours, to Yours, O LORD.

To be a Christian means to give your life completely to Christ. It is to say to GOD/Jesus, LORD, I give my life to You, please take control over it. You must submit yourself completely to Christ and let HIM enter (be intimately involved in) every area of your life. Who better to commit your life to than the One Who is ultimately in control.

Read Ephesians 5: 1-20.

What do you look like?
