Thanks GOD!

Often when we receive things from GOD, we forget to say thanks. We would usually do so when we receive thungs from a physical person. Like at the counter of a shop, as we receive our goods we say thanks. Or when our parents cook us dinner we say thanks once we've received it. If we sneeze and somebody saya "GOD bless you" we say "thank you". If somebody pays us a compliment...you get my point. There are many things we take for granted in this life given the fact that it is GOD who provides all. The Bible says that "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17)
How many times in life during the day do we before we draw our next breath, thank GOD for the very life that is in us. The Bible says in .. that in Him we live and move and have our being
So what does this mean? The very breath in our body is a gift from GOD and we didn't ask for it. There are lots of other things in our life which we take for granted. The gift of speech, sight, smell, taste, touch. The ability to be whole minded and able-bodied. The clothes we wear, the food we eat, the house we live in, clean water. Many things we take for granted is a scarcity in many developing (third- world) countries. We have to thank GOD for these things. Many of us take our loved ones for granted, but we must no take GOD for granted. Psalm 103:2 says that we are to "forget not all his benefits".
Psalm 103 says that GOD forgives all our iniquities vs 3, heals all our diseases vs 3, redeems our life from destruction vs 4, crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies vs 4, satisfies our mouth with good things vs 5 (so that our youth is renewed like the eagle's), has removed our trangressions as far as the east is from the west vs 12 and pities us as a father pities his children vs 13.

In fact, majority of the things which GOD provides for us is done our of His great, undying, unconditional and eternal love for us. We didn't even have to ask for it. His love is everlasting. You will not find anyone else in the whole universe to be GOD's match. He doesn't have one. Nobody can out-give GOD, over-throw GOD, over-power GOD, out-live GOD, out-love GOD. Nobody in the world can do the things He does. He is great! There truly is none like Him. He alone could make this immensely vast and articulate universe in in grand design with meer words. He spoke the entire universe into existence. Isn't that awesome. It is. GOD is great and there is none like Him. He listen to our most silent of prayers, feels our hearts breaking, hears our most secret of thoughts, looks after the flowers, the sparrows and us. The entire universe is kept in total and perfect balance because of this awesome and mighty GOD, whom noone can truly comprehend or begin to fathom the complexity and infinite wisdom of His omnipotent, great mind. Who can truly imagine all of GOD's thoughts. The vastness of His imagination.
In Matthew 6:25-34 Jesus tells us not to worry about our needs because they are taken care of by GOD and He "knows what you need before you ask Him" vs 8. Without even needing to ask GOD for things, they are provided. He loves us dearly and delights to give good gifts to His children. All that we need His hand provides. This bring to mind one of my favourite hymns, Great is Thy faithfulness. The chorus read:-

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Lord unto me

This song to me speaks of the constant care of our loving Heavenly Father. Never will He leave us alone. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Hebrews 13:5. He loves us as a mother loves her new born baby. He loves us even greater than that and this is proved to us through Christ's death on the cross. John 3:16, Romans 5:8, John 15:13, 1 John 3:1. According to His Word, nothing can separate us from that love. Romans 8:35-39. So stand firm in it. Say it with me: - "I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and sees me in my need. He will never leave me nor forsake me and He gives me strength, endurance and power to do all things through Him."

Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
